Grain neutral spirit & magnolia berry wine Jangsu Omijaju is produced in collaboration by young brewers and experts with more than 30 years of fermentation experience. The winery aimed to revive the five flavors of the omija, or magnolia berry: sour, bitter, spicy, sweet, and salty. It is produced by adding alcohol to the omija wine that has been aged for three years. Although you can taste the sweetness at first, the astringent and bitter taste soon passes by.
[Jangsu Omijaju]: What foods pair well with it?
Try it with a well-marinated pork dish.
The sweet and tangy flavors of omija will cut through the richness of the pork, harmonizing the diverse flavors and the seasoned meat for a perfect balance.
For those who prefer a lighter option, prepare some tonic water.
You’ll have a wonderful cocktail that satisfies both the visual and culinary senses.
It’s even tastier when you know more about it!
Jangsu Omijaju is made by adding spirits to omija wine, which has undergone a three-year aging process.
When filtering spirits, a methanol aroma, known as 'spirit odor,' can form.
To remove this methanol scent, the drink is passed through activated charcoal and undergoes two rounds of filtration.
Thanks to this, it achieves a cleaner taste and aroma.
